Practicality in tennis clothes

For some people, it's all about looking good while playing sports. Tennis is no different. Many people are more concerned with looking good rather than working on their home runs flying over everybody's heads that they call shots.

Traditional tennis clothes from the 50's to the present consist of a collared t-shirt with shorts for men and skirts for women. It is actually interesting that tennis skirts nowadays have gotten so long because tennis was first enjoyed by the upper class that found it proper to always wear dresses that came down past your ankles. For men as well, the traditional tennis uniform was a collared shirt and cotton pants. I assume you could call it logical that tennis clothes have evolved to provide wider ranges of motion for the arms and legs allowing more active play. However, there are some that still prefer to look the part rather than play it.

Tennis clothes should be about comfort. Tennis is an active sport so it's already clear that you're going to be sweating profusely. Try not to wear something that will stick to you as you begin sweating. Tennis clothes should offer you the widest range of motion possible and not get in your way as you play. Many men prefer sleeveless t-shirts because they find that sleeves tend to stick to their arms as they swing. For maximum comfort and activity, I recommend just a t-shirt along with shorts for men and skirts for women that have pockets. Why the pockets? For holding the Tennis Balls of course! Just think practical over appearance and you should be fine.
